See where your week went
Report splits finished tasks and focused minutes by category for a day, week, month or year, and shares it as an image.
Report shows where the work went: tasks finished first, focused minutes second, split by category. It's how you notice that marketing slipped again, or that one course took the whole week.
What's a category?
A label for the kind of work a task is, like Marketing, Sales or Admin. A task has one category or none.
Set them up in Settings › Preferences › Categories, where you can add, rename, reorder and delete them.
How do I give a task a category?
- Type
+and the category's name when you capture the task, like+marketing. - Press W on the task's row.
- Use the Category chip in the task's details or on the Triage card.
A +name that matches no category is left out, and the task saves without one.
How do I read the report?
Pick Day, Week, Month or Year, and step back with ‹. The current period is the latest one.
| View | Shows |
|---|---|
| Bars | Categories ranked by tasks finished |
| Days | Each day's work, stacked by category (not for a single day) |
| Rings | Each category's share |
The table under it lists each category's tasks and focused time, with percentages. Tasks without a category get a row of their own.
How do I share it?
Click Share (it reads Share bars, Share days or Share rings, after the view). An image of the report goes to your clipboard, ready to paste into X or LinkedIn. If your browser can't copy images, it downloads the file.
Which minutes count?
Minutes from a timer that ran on a task. A timer from ⌘K › Focus now, untethered isn't tied to a task, so it doesn't count.
After you finish a task, See today in the toast opens today's report.
