Run your day

Today is the ordered list you committed to, measured against the day's hours, and unfinished work waits for a decision.

Today holds the tasks you committed to, in the order you'll do them, measured against the day's hours. Start the timer on the top one and work down.

What goes on Today?

Tasks planned for today, plus anything you pull in. Click Pull from the pool, or press P, to add work from the work pool. Drag rows to set the order.

A task with a clock time, like a call at 3pm, sorts to the top and stays there.

How do I know if the day fits?

The header shows the hours planned against the day's hours, like 3h20 of 4h planned. When it doesn't fit, it says Over by and how much. Fix it on the rows: press D on a task to move it to another day, or drag it back to the pool.

After your first finished task, the header counts hours done instead. Click it to open the day in Report.

What happens to tasks I didn't finish?

They wait for a decision. A line at the top of Today says how many tasks slipped from earlier days; click Decide, and each task offers 3 answers:

AnswerWhat happens
TodayIt joins today's list.
Pick a dayIt moves to the day you choose.
Let goIt goes back to the pool, with no day.

A task lands here when its planned day has passed, or when its deadline passed while it had no planned day. Your answer sticks: a deadline you let go doesn't come back to ask again.

Can I plan another day from Today?

Yes. Use the arrows beside the date, or [ and ], to step to any day; Today brings you back.

A coming day shows what it holds, its meetings and whether it fits, and you can add and reorder work there. A past day lists what you finished and how long you focused.

How do I start working?

Press the play button on the first task, or press T on its row, and choose Pomodoros or one block. See Focus on one task.
