Decide what matters

Triage asks the Eisenhower question one open task at a time. Do it now, schedule it, delegate it or drop it.

The Eisenhower matrix sorts work by two questions, is it urgent and is it important, into 4 answers: do it now, schedule it, delegate it or drop it. Triage asks those questions one task at a time, across every project.

Which tasks show up in Triage?

Every open task that has no planned day and isn't waiting on someone, oldest first. Delegated tasks come back on the day you said you'd check.

A milestone's Triage button runs the same queue for that milestone's tasks only.

What do the 4 answers do?

KeyAnswerWhat happens
1Do nowThe task joins Today.
2ScheduleYou pick a real day: keys 1 to 7 for today, tomorrow and the next 5 days, or Another day.
3DelegateYou name who has it and when to check: Tomorrow, In 3 days, Next week or Another day. It waits until then.
4DropThe task goes to the trash. Undo brings it back.

Press → to skip a task for now. It stays in the queue.

What happens when a delegated task comes back?

On its check-back day, Triage shows it again and asks Still waiting on this?

  • Chase it today puts it on Today, so you follow up.
  • Keep waiting checks again in 7 days.
  • Take it back ends the wait, and the task is yours again.

What does the card show?

The task's project, its milestone with that milestone's pace and days left, its estimate and its category. That's the evidence for the urgent and important questions. The answer is always yours: tidystation never ranks your tasks or picks an answer.

What happens when the queue is empty?

Triage says Decisions cleared and offers to open the week, where you can fit the work you scheduled. See Plan your week.
