tidystation vs Sunsama

Both measure a day against the hours you have. Sunsama guides you through a planning and shutdown ritual, time-blocks tasks on your calendar and moves unfinished work to the next day at midnight. tidystation weighs each milestone against your hours before its date, asks the Eisenhower question one task at a time, and asks what to do with every task that slips.

What happens to tasks you didn’t finish?

In Sunsama, every unfinished task moves to the next day at midnight with a counter, and after several days without progress it’s archived. In tidystation a task whose day has passed waits on Today for one of 3 answers: Today, Pick a day or Let go. The answer sticks.

Who decides what goes on the day?

In tidystation you do: you build each day’s list, and tidystation shows whether it fits. A connected assistant applies the decisions you state, and nothing in tidystation picks tasks or days for you. In Sunsama, the assistant Sunny can plan your day and move tasks, and Autoplan schedules by rules you set (in beta).

How do the two handle calendars?

Sunsama time-blocks tasks on its own calendar or on your Google, Outlook or iCloud calendar, and lets you edit events from inside Sunsama. tidystation connects to Google Calendar and Outlook read-only: imported meetings take their time out of the day, and it never writes to your calendar.

Who should pick Sunsama?

Anyone who wants a guided ritual every morning and evening, tasks blocked on their calendar, phone apps, or an assistant that plans the day.

Who should pick tidystation?

Anyone who runs several projects or courses toward dates, wants to know in hours whether each one still fits, and wants to decide every open and every slipped task themselves, at $7 a month.
